Optimize Wav Or MP3 For DJ’s

How To Optimize Or ‘Heal’ Your Wav or MP3 Files

Platinum Notes

Platinum Notes

Great thing about this software is the Dynamics Compression and Volume change.

Those seem to be the highlights which  made the difference in the overall tune.

I simply ignored the Pitch change since I find it no need and it might sound funny especially with vocals.

Conversion from WAV to WAV or possibly even mp3 to WAV made the biggest difference.

Since WAV files are lossless, it was nice to be able to keep the same quality of the mp3 files after the conversion.

The best  is to process just WAV files if you want to achieve the best quality for an mp3 or a WAV file.

The bad part that I seem to notice is the mp3 encoders.

To convert a WAV file with Platinum Notes own mp3 encoder to a 320 bit rate MP3 has a big degradation in sound quality.

I consider Lame is better than Fraunhoffer which the latter is in Platinum Notes.

You are better off using WAV. Or as they stated for recommendations, “MP3s is for listeners and WAV is for DJs.”

Another option is 192 bitrate VBR which can be good for 320 to 192 optimized conversion especially for online Radio DJ’s.

Platinum Notes is easy to use because the entire process is fully automated and has a batch feature.

If you need more power and options then check  this one:

iZotope RX Advanced

The best and very pricey but totally pro and it’s used in sound studios too.

I am very impressed with this tool. It also has a batch feature.
