Getting The People To Dance

dj tip

Getting The People To Dance

Right here is a DJ tip when you got an empty dance floor, what to do?

See what kind of people and try to feel and be one of them.

Find and play an older track that you have seen on crowded dance floors before.

Play the famous old dancing track and you will see the people will start to trickle onto the dance floor.

Be sure you are playing the right style for the kind of  people there.

Throw in more older tracks of the same style. Or  try a recent remix or mashup of the older hits.

When you got the floor hot then mix a  recent new track  then throw in a spanking new track .

So you don’t look that you are outdated.

Most probably the crowd on the floor will thin out, if not continue on the new music, but if so then back down to the older tracks  to keep the place warm.

Sometimes when playing brand new music, the people just don’t know the music  and so things can be cold and the dancing just won’t start.

If you got some friends, tell them to be on dance floor till it packs up.

You can also try  the Electric Slide Dance if the music just wont start it up.

Another way to get your guests dancing is to dance yourself !

Let’s dance!

Peace

Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster [Deluxe Edition]

Lady Gaga_The Fame Monster

Lady Gaga – The Fame Monster [Deluxe Edition]

Has an album title ever been so self-prophetic? In its first year, this electro pop opus rocketed Lady Gaga from unknown New York singer to the world’s biggest pop star this side of Britney Spears. The Fame’s brand of pop is shamelessly decadent: 11 of its 13 songs are about money, celebrity, sex, clubbing, or a sticky combination of all four. It’s insipid subject matter, unless you consider Gaga as less of a silly, manufactured blonde than an ingenious artist playing the part of a glitzy pop star. Witness The Fame’s impeccably sleek opening songs, from the carelessly rambling chorus of “Just Dance” to the snappy, futuristic beat of “Love Game”: Gaga’s got the outrageous outfits and dance moves down to a science, but underneath it all, the music is aggressive and authoritarian in ways that most other 40 tunes are not. Often compared to Gwen Stefani’s, Gaga’s vocals are in fact richer and rounder, allowing her a certain stylistic versatility, and her personae alternate from wild party kid to vulnerable lover. Some of the risks don’t always pay off, but the Lady Gaga of the dark and ardent mega hit “Poker Face” prevails. She is commandeering enough, bizarre and beguiling enough, to ensure that she’ll be basking in our attention for a very long time. –Erin Thompson

This title was released on November 23, 2009.
